The story behind

The song Primer día, born from the collaboration between Julieta Venegas and Argentine rapper Dante Spinetta, immerses us in the complexity of emotions after a breakup. The lyrics, co-written by both artists, explore that intimate moment when, once the relationship has ended, people finally dare to express what they feel. This piece, which is part of the album Limón y sal, was released just before the summer of 2007, achieving a good reception on various Spanish-speaking music charts. It reached number 10 on the Chile Singles Charts, 12 in Argentina, and 13 in Spain. The production of this song was handled by Cachorro López, and the recording took place in Argentina, with Joaquín Cambre as engineer.

The music video for Primer día, which accompanies the song, presents an interesting visual narrative. It begins with Dante encouraging Julieta to tell her story. Then, we see her traveling through the streets of Buenos Aires in a taxi, while he appears on scene with a cart full of watermelons that ends up crashing, scattering the fruit. Throughout the video, images follow one another, including Japanese characters, Dante rapping, Julieta dressed in a kimono and facing samurai, casino-themed animations, an accordion playing by itself, and finally, both artists sharing the scene in a Chinese market. This audiovisual material had its own impact, ranking #36 on "Los 100 + pedidos" in the North sector and #66 in the South. The album Limón y sal, from which Primer día is taken, was released in 2006 and has been a milestone in Julieta Venegas's career, earning accolades such as the Latin Grammy for "Best Alternative Music Album" and the Grammy for "Best Latin Pop Album".
