The story behind

When you immerse yourself in Planet Zerox, you encounter a sonic atmosphere that moves away from the urgency of Creep. This track, part of The Bends, Radiohead's second album, released in March 1995, shows an evolution in their approach. The compositions here tend to be more restrained, with careful arrangements and lyrics that invite reflection, a notable contrast to the 1993 debut Pablo Honey. The recording of this album, which included Nigel Godrich and Stanley Donwood, who have collaborated on later works, began in February 1994 at RAK Studios in London.

The initial sessions were marked by pressure from the record label Parlophone to replicate the success of Creep, which led to some slowness in the process. After an international tour in May and June, work resumed in other emblematic studios such as Abbey Road and The Manor in Oxfordshire. The Bends was an important step for Radiohead, consolidating their sound and laying the groundwork for later works like OK Computer, which would address themes of alienation and globalization, and the experimental Kid A and Amnesiac, where they explored electronics and krautrock. By 2007, the band's first six albums had sold over 25 million copies.
