The story behind

Perché non torna più, according to DoReSol

The melody of *Perché non torna più* was born from the collaboration between Pietro Cremonesi and Angelo Valsiglio, who also handled the production alongside Marco Marati. The lyrics, in turn, were written by Federico Cavalli. This piece was recorded in 1993 at Estúdio Santana Recording, located in Castelfranco Emilia. The song is dedicated to two friends of Laura Pausini, named Laura and Simona, who tragically died in a car accident. This deeply personal context lends the song an emotional depth that resonates in its interpretation.

In 1994, a Spanish version of the song was released, titled *¿Por qué no volverán?*, with the lyrics adapted by Ignacio Ballesteros. This new version was included in the album *Laura Pausini*, aimed at the Spanish-speaking market. The music video for *Perché non torna più*, filmed in Ostia, Italy, and directed by Ambrogio Lo Giudice, shares visual similarities with that of *La solitudine*, as both productions were shot in the same location. In the video for *Perché non torna più*, three young girls can be seen representing Laura and her friends in moments of play, evoking the innocence of childhood.
