The story behind
Para estar, according to DoReSol
The song Para estar by Cultura Profética was born during a journey that lasted years. The theme took shape during the tour the band embarked on from 2007, when each live performance gave form to its sound. Before recording it in the studio, it already circulated on the Internet as part of that trial-and-error process that defined their style. When it finally reached La Dulzura, released in 2010 by their own label La Mafafa, it already carried the essence of what the band sought: a reggae with deep roots but a rhythm that feels fresh, even after so much time on the road.
Rodríguez, one of its members, explained that the decision to create their own label arose from necessity. Traditional record labels did not offer them conditions that allowed them to work with freedom, so they chose to do it themselves. Para estar was no exception: it was recorded as part of that album that marked a before and after for them, not only for the sound, but for the independence with which they achieved it. Its duration of 4:56 makes it a song that does not feel rushed, but rather invites you to linger on each chord.
