The story behind
Amante luz, according to DoReSol
Amante luz doesn’t sound like the rest of the album. It’s not that it breaks away from the style of La Dulzura, but there’s that sparkle that makes it stand out: a melody that lingers in your head and won’t leave, as if the bass and guitar chase each other in a game of echoes. The track unfolds with deceptive calm, pulling the listener along a path where every instrument gets its moment to shine without rushing. It’s not the most energetic song on the album, but it’s one of those you end up humming without realizing it, as if the rhythm had slipped into your memory without asking permission.
La Dulzura was released in 2010, the first album the band put out under their own label, La Mafafa. Rodríguez explained that they tried traditional labels, but none offered terms that suited them, so they decided to do it themselves. Several of the songs, including Amante luz, were born during the tour that began in 2007 and evolved until their release. Before the album saw the light of day, the band had already shared some tracks online, including La Compl. The final version of Amante luz runs for five minutes and ten seconds—a length that’s neither too long nor too short, as if every note had been measured to find the exact balance.
