The story behind

John Lennon recorded "Oh Yoko!" in 1971, during the recording of his album *Imagine*. The song was released in September of that year in the United States, and then in October in the United Kingdom. He wrote it for his wife, Yoko Ono, and recorded it at the Ascot Sound studio in Sunningdale, England. The track features piano by Nicky Hopkins and the vocal harmony was produced by Phil Spector. Lennon plays the harmonica for the first time on a solo song, something he had already done with the Beatles, but this time it is the last time he does so. The song was included in the film *Rushmore* of 1998. It is a rock ballad of four and a half minutes, with a sound that contrasts with his previous works.
