The story behind
The opening riff of Nuestra fe doesn’t sound like anything Soda Stereo had recorded before. It’s not just Gustavo Cerati’s guitar — which here leans into Lukatheres-style solos — but how that sound intertwines with the keyboards of Melero and Tweety, lending it a techno edge without losing the rock foundation. Charly Alberti’s drums don’t merely accompany: they drive forward, almost like an unending loop, while Héctor "Zeta" Bosio’s bass locks into a groove that refuses to let go. It’s a blend that, according to Melero, originated from outtakes of Colores Santos, but here found its perfect place: without the drums, there’d be no tension; without the keyboards, no artificial shimmer; and without the bass, the song would lack the weight needed to hold it together.
They recorded it at Estudio Supersónico in Buenos Aires during 1992, amid sessions that turned out more chaotic than planned. The album Dynamo was released on cassette that same year by Sony Music Latin, but the public took time to embrace this shift in sound. While Canción Animal had catapulted them to the top, Nuestra fe remained a track many discovered later, once the record had already spent months on the shelves. Duration: 6:38 of pure construction where every layer — from the keyboards to the drums — seems meticulously calculated so nothing lingers or falls short.
