The story behind
Nervously, according to DoReSol
"Nervously" is one of those songs that sounds like an electronic whisper, as if the synthesizer were breathing in time with the vocals. It’s not a track that packs a punch with epic choruses or fast-paced beats; rather, it moves in a realm where the intimate and the synthetic blend effortlessly. The production plays with layers of sound that seem to float, almost as if the atmosphere itself were part of the melody. It’s the kind of track that, when you listen to it, makes you wonder exactly what the sound of your feelings would be.
They recorded it in Munich, at Red Deer Studio, during the sessions for what would later become the album *Behaviour*. The choice of Harold Faltermeyer as producer was no accident: they were looking for someone with mastery of analog synthesizers, at a time when digital equipment dominated the market. The result was an album that moved away from the more expansive sound of *Introspective* and the pop brilliance of *Very*, opting instead for a more restrained and reflective tone. “Nervously,” at four minutes and six seconds, encapsulates that quest: a song that doesn’t demand attention, but rather earns it through subtlety.
