The story behind
Nada personal, according to DoReSol
The song Nada Personal, co-written by Marc Anthony with Estéfano and Julio C. Reyes, emerges from a particular moment in the artist's career. It is from the album Amar Sin Mentiras, released in June 2004. This work marked a milestone as his first pop album in Spanish, exploring a sound distinct from what had previously consolidated him. The production was handled by Colombian singer Estéfano, and on this album, the voice of Jennifer López can also be heard. The album had a notable reception, winning the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2005 ceremony. The first single, ¿Ahora Quién?, reached the top of the Hot Latin Tracks charts during 2004, setting the album's direction.
Marc Anthony, whose real name is Marco Antonio Muñiz Ruiz Rivera, was born in New York in 1968 and has Puerto Rican roots. His musical career is vast, encompassing genres such as salsa, bolero, ballad, and pop. He began his journey in hip hop with the duo Little Louie & Marc Anthony, achieving a number one hit on the US charts in 1991. Subsequently, his career took a turn towards salsa under the RMM label, achieving considerable success and being one of the first Latin artists to earn gold records in Spain. His international projection was consolidated when he was chosen by Paul Simon to star in his work The Capeman. In 2004, he collaborated with Jennifer López on the production of the song Sway.
