The story behind
Miracles Happen, according to DoReSol
When approaching Miracles Happen, we encounter a piece that, while it may seem simple on first listen, holds interesting details about the Bee Gees' working methods. The song has a duration of 4 minutes and 12 seconds, and its mixing was handled by Chris Carroll and Hugh Padgham, who also took on the role of producer.
This track is part of the album Still Waters, released in March 1997 in the United Kingdom and in May of the same year in the United States. The gestation of this album had a particular context. In 1994, a tour planned to promote Size Isn't Everything was postponed due to arthritis problems affecting Barry Gibb. Following the cancellation, Robin Gibb told the press that the group was working on a project of acoustic covers of songs they had written for other artists, which would eventually be known as Love Songs. Although Miracles Happen does not directly stem from that Love Songs project, it was conceived during a period when the Gibb brothers were exploring different facets of their musical creativity, surrounded by renowned producers such as Russ Titelman, David Foster, Hugh Padgham, and Arif Mardin.
