The story behind
This song is not just a simple track about a breakup, but a real-time portrait of what it feels like to wake up without the other person. The voice cracks in the opening lines, as if the singer were trying to hold back the air, and the bass traces a melancholic path that repeats itself, growing increasingly tense. There is something in the rhythm that doesn’t quite fit, as if the beat resists moving forward, much like someone trying to carry on with their day after a loss. The chorus, on the other hand, becomes more direct, almost urgent, as if the narrator needed to shout out that absence before it drowns them.
Recorded in 1994, it is part of Big Bang, the album that cemented Los Enanitos Verdes as one of the most solid bands in Argentine rock of the 90s. The album was released in August of that year and, within weeks, was playing on every radio station—not by chance: the sound of Big Bang carried that mix of freshness and rawness that defined them. In 2021, the song took an unexpected turn when Mexican singer Junior H included it on his album $ad Boyz 4 Life, giving it a more modern feel without losing its original essence.
