The story behind

Love You ’Til the Day I Die, according to DoReSol

When Neil Finn and Paul Hester decided to shape something new after the departure of Split Enz in 1984, the idea for Love You ’Til the Day I Die began to take shape. Originally, the project was known as The Mullanes, and in that initial stage, Craig Hooper, who came from The Reels, was also a part of it. The lineup solidified when Nick Seymour joined on bass, bringing an energy that would resonate in the compositions. The production of this track, like other key pieces by the band, fell into the hands of Mitchell Froom, a name associated with a distinctive and polished sound.

The career of Crowded House, active mainly between 1986 and 1996, had a comeback chapter in 2007. It was precisely in 2006 when Neil Finn and Nick Seymour reunited, working on material that would eventually lead to a new album under the name Crowded House. For this rebirth, Mark Hart rejoined on guitar and piano, and Matt Sherrod took the place of drummer Paul Hester. The result of this collaboration was the album Time on Earth, released in 2007, which marked the continuation of their musical legacy.
