The story behind
The song *Llorar por dentro* by Cristian Castro, with a duration of 4 minutes and 25 seconds, is from the album *Azul*, released in June 2001. This work was again produced by the Colombian composer and producer Kike Santander, who had already collaborated with Castro on his previous album, *Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor*, in 1999. The album *Azul* was recognized with a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2002 ceremony.
Cristian Castro, whose full name is Cristian Sainz Valdés Castro, was born in Mexico City in 1974, into a family with a strong artistic tradition. He is the son of the renowned actress Verónica Castro and actor Manuel "El Loco" Valdés. His family environment also includes figures such as telenovela producer José Alberto "El Güero" Castro, his maternal uncle, and the celebrated comedians Germán Valdés, known as Tin Tán, and Ramón Valdés, remembered for his role as Don Ramón in *El Chavo del Ocho*. Although he began his career in acting, it was singing that would lead him to achieve international fame. Throughout his career, he has managed to place 29 songs at the top of the *Top Latin Songs* charts, being recognized as the third most relevant Spanish-speaking artist in the history of *Billboard*.
