The story behind
Latigazo, according to DoReSol
Daddy Yankee released Latigazo in 2002, within the album El Cangri.com. The song moved in reguetón, with a rhythm that stuck in your head. It talks about a woman who seems normal, but has a fierce side underneath. The video was shot in Puerto Rico and New York streets, with an action touch and a cameo by Kobe Bryant. It became a hit in Central America and the Caribbean, to the point where other artists like Don Omar and Nicky Jam wanted it on their lists. The album was produced by DJ Blass, one of the most important of that time, and came out in two versions, one white for Puerto Rico and a normal one for the United States.
