The story behind
Intro, according to DoReSol
Upon hearing the track that kicks off the album *El Cangri.com*, we encounter *Intro Cangri*. With a duration of 2 minutes and 8 seconds, this piece serves as the gateway to a work that, released on June 20, 2002, would become a benchmark for the genre. The album saw the light under the independent label Los Cangris Music Inc., a joint initiative with Nicky Jam, and was distributed by V.I. Music. The main production was handled by DJ Blass, who at the time was a central figure in the reggaeton scene.
This record, which explored the sound of reggaeton, resonated strongly with the Latin public, paving the way for tracks that became emblematic such as «Latigazo», «Ella Está Soltera», and «Guayando», the latter a collaboration with Nicky Jam. The impact of Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1977, transcends this album. His influence is such that Time magazine included him among the 100 most influential people in the world in 2006, and CNN highlighted him as one of the most important and influential Hispanic celebrities in 2009. He is considered a key figure in the consolidation of reggaeton as a musical style of the 21st century, bringing the genre to Latin America, Spain, and other countries.
