The story behind
The song La dicha no es una cosa alegre, by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, immerses us in a sonic atmosphere that spans just over five minutes. This piece, part of the album Luzbelito, is distinguished by its depth and how it invites reflection through its lyrics. The album itself is a conceptual work, exploring the complexities of the human being through the figure of Luzbelito, a character who embodies the dualities of our beliefs and actions.
The recording of Luzbelito, and by extension of La dicha no es una cosa alegre, involved a more extensive process than the group's previous works. Several studios were used to shape the sound: Be Bop in São Paulo, New River in Fort Lauderdale, and El Pie in Buenos Aires. Carlos Alberto Indio Solari and Skay Beilinson led Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, a band from La Plata, which left a significant mark on Argentine rock. Their musical proposal was characterized by its own rock aesthetic, achieving a massive connection without relying on traditional cultural channels, always maintaining their independence from the industry and promoting their concerts mainly through word-of-mouth.
