The story behind
Knee Socks, according to DoReSol
The song *Knee Socks* by Arctic Monkeys, with its 4 minutes and 18 seconds duration, immerses itself in an atmosphere that draws from influences as diverse as psychedelic rock, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, desert rock, R&B, funk, and soul. It is a track that explores a sound with hip hop undertones, something that marked a new direction for the band on the album AM. The recording of this album, released in 2013, took place in two different studios: Sage & Sound Recording in Los Angeles and Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California. The production was handled by James Ford, a regular collaborator, and co-production was carried out by Ross Orton. The final mixing was in the hands of Tchad Blake.
The Arctic Monkeys, originally from Sheffield in the United Kingdom, were consolidated with Alex Turner on vocals and lead guitar, Jamie Cook on guitar, Matt Helders on drums, and Nick O'Malley on bass. The album AM, of which Knee Socks is a part, was promoted with singles such as R U Mine?, Do I Wanna Know?, Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?, One for the Road, Arabella, and Snap Out of It. On this work, the band featured collaborations from musicians such as Josh Homme, Bill Ryder-Jones, and Pete Thomas.
