When you dive into *Insatiable*, you encounter a ballad that, despite its slow tempo, radiates a palpable intensity. Prince's voice here unleashes a falsetto reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield's skill, showcasing remarkable vocal ability. The lyrics, laden with desire, are supported by an R&B rhythmic foundation that invites movement, creating an extremely sensual atmosphere. This track, released in 1991 as part of the album Diamonds and Pearls, became a standout cut, reaching number 3 on the R&B charts in the United States. Although it did not reach the top 40 on the pop charts, it had a strong presence on Urban and UAC radio stations.
The recording of *Insatiable* took place on October 8, 1990, at Larrabee Studios in Hollywood, California.
