The story behind
Yes wrote "Hold On" in 1983, before Trevor Rabin joined the band. He started it as two separate songs: "Hold On" and "Moving In". When Rabin arrived, they combined them. Chris Squire and Jon Anderson added more music and lyrics. The three are recognized as authors. The song was released on the album 90125, the first Yes album since 1980. It was recorded in 1983 and released on November 7th of that year. The band shared production with Trevor Horn, something that did not happen with other songs on the album. The live version appeared on 9012Live: The Solos and on other compilation albums. ↓ Skip to chords
