Hold On

In *Hold On*, the lyrics introduce us to someone who, apparently, did not believe in their own strength. The narrative unfolds as a gradual discovery of their capabilities, thus allowing them to overcome the difficulties that were holding them back. The essence of the song lies in that message of finding inner strength to move forward, no matter how complicated the situation becomes. This track is part of *Warning*, the sixth studio album by Green Day, released on October 3, 2000. For this work, the band, composed of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, moved away from their characteristic punk rock sound. Instead, they explored acoustic elements, incorporating influences from pop and folk. The album's lyrics, in general, present more optimistic and inspiring themes compared to their previous works. The recording featured engineering by Ken Allardyce and mixing by Jack Joseph‐Puig, while the overall production was handled by the band themselves. The album, with a runtime of 2:57 for *Hold On*, was the first since *Kerplunk* (1991) not to be produced by Rob Cavallo, although the latter did participate as executive producer.
