This discographic work, the Mexican singer's seventh studio album, once again featured the production of Kike Santander, who had already collaborated on Castro's previous album, *Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor*, in 1999. The album *Azul* had a significant impact on the music industry, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2002 ceremony. The title track of the album, *Azul*, reached the top of the Latin charts.
Cristian Castro, whose full name is Cristian Sainz Valdés Castro, was born in Mexico City in 1974, into a highly artistic environment. He is the son of renowned actors Verónica Castro and Manuel "El Loco" Valdés. His family heritage includes figures such as his uncle José Alberto "El Güero" Castro, a telenovela producer for Televisa, and comedians Germán Valdés, known as Tin Tán, and Ramón Valdés, who played Don Ramón in *El Chavo del Ocho*. Although he initially ventured into acting, singing was his true calling, an activity that catapulted him to international fame.
