The story behind
Esa noche, according to DoReSol
There's something about Esa noche by Café Tacvba that invites you to dive into its atmosphere from the very first second. It's not just the melody, but how it's built, with layers that keep adding up and creating a sense of depth. The duration, just over three and a half minutes, is perfect for the song to grab you and not let go, leaving that mark that makes you want to listen to it again.
This track is part of Re, the second album by Café Tacvba, released in 1994. They recorded it in Cuernavaca, Morelos, with the band itself and Gustavo Santaolalla as producer. For this work, they explored a variety of musical styles, from very Mexican rhythms like huapango or son jarocho, to influences from punk or grunge. On Re, musicians such as Luis Conte and Alejandro Flores also participated. Interestingly, the lead vocalist, Rubén Albarrán, is credited on this album under the name "Cosme".
