The story behind

Errantes, according to DoReSol

At the time of recording El Dorado, the second studio album by Aterciopelados, the band was seeking a sound that resonated with their Colombian identity. The album, released on October 24, 1995, was a turning point for the group. The production was led by Federico López, and the recording sessions took place at Audiovisión studios, located in Bogotá. This work is considered fundamental within Spanish-language rock, and it was what opened the doors to broader recognition for Aterciopelados. In fact, the magazine American Al Borde included it in its list of the 250 most important albums of Ibero-American rock in 2006, being one of the three albums by the group to appear there.

Within El Dorado is Errantes, a piece that, with its 2 minutes and 58 seconds of duration, encapsulates the essence of this sonic stage. While the album itself is recognized for its impact and for songs like Bolero Falaz, Errantes adds to that legacy, showcasing the musical exploration that Aterciopelados was developing at the time. The production by Federico López and the recording in Bogotá were key to shaping this sound, which, over time, would become an important part of the band’s discography.
