The story behind
Enemigos íntimos, according to DoReSol
The song *Enemigos íntimos* immerses us in a complex relationship, where closeness is confused with distance and affection is intertwined with distrust. It is a portrait of those bonds that, despite apparent intimacy, hold secrets and latent tensions, exploring the duality of wanting someone close and at the same time wishing they would keep their distance. The lyrics speak to us of that fine line separating love from resentment, of the complicity born from shared scars, and of the difficulty of detaching from ties that, though painful, have become indispensable.
This theme was conceived during a particular moment in Joaquín Sabina's life. After a health incident in 2001, the singer-songwriter went through a period of reflection and depression that led him to temporarily step away from the stage. It was after overcoming this phase that he released Dímelo en la calle in 2002, followed by Alivio de luto in 2005. His latest solo work to date, Vinagre y rosas, released in 2009, demonstrated the enduring relevance of his work, achieving notable sales figures shortly after its release. Throughout his career, Sabina has collaborated with numerous artists, both on joint recordings and by composing for others, and has shared stages in projects like La orquesta del Titanic with Joan Manuel Serrat.
