The story behind

The first time I heard En una tarde de sol, I was hooked at that moment where the guitar unravels into scattered notes, as if the afternoon sun filtered through the cracks of a window. It's not a song that advances with a marked rhythm, but rather floats between chords that repeat with an almost hypnotic cadence, as if time stretched in that precise instant. Moris doesn't seek to build a song with a defined climax, but to capture that sense of calm that only long afternoons provide, where everything seems to pause. The result is a brief yet intense piece, where simplicity does not diminish depth.

Recorded between 1967 and 1968, this song is part of Moris' first album, Treinta minutos de vida, released in 1970 under the Mandioca label. It wasn't a conventional studio work: the sessions spanned years, with final mixes completed only in 1969, giving the material a raw, almost organic sound. Producer Jorge Álvarez and Pedro Pujó worked with borrowed equipment and without aspirations of perfection, aiming to capture the essence of the songs in their rawest form. Decades later, the album would be included in a list of the best Argentine rock albums by Rolling Stone magazine, though its true value lies not in rankings but in how those recordings from over half a century ago still resonate with the same freshness.
