Soda Stereo released «(En) El séptimo día» as their third single from their album Canción animal, released in 1990. It was the first song of the album and marked the beginning of their more rock-oriented style. With that song, the long tour that presented the album, called Gira Animal, began.

The story behind

Soda Stereo released El séptimo día in 1990, as the third single from Canción animal. It was the first song of the album and marked a change in their sound, more rock-oriented than before. The drums start with force, then enters the electric guitar, which repeats several times, and then the bass. The rhythm is 7x8, something rare in rock. The song became a classic, they opened with it in many concerts, from the Gira Animal to El Último Concierto and Me Verás Volver. It is one of the most requested songs by the band, with a riff that stays in your head.
