El Dorado

When Aterciopelados released their second studio work, titled El Dorado, in 1995, they not only consolidated their sound but also opened doors to broader recognition. This album, which saw the light of day on October 24 of that year under the Sony BMG label, was recorded at Audiovisión studios in Bogotá, with production by Federico López. The music of El Dorado, the song that gives the album its name, is a key piece within this work.

The importance of El Dorado, the album, has been highlighted by specialized critics. It was considered a milestone in Spanish rock and is credited with driving commercial success and international recognition for Aterciopelados. In fact, American magazine Al Borde included it in 2006 on its list of the 250 most important albums of Ibero-American rock, placing it at number 9.
