The story behind

The story behind Don’t Pass Me By is quite particular. It was George Harrison's first composition to be included on a The Beatles record, and furthermore, it is the only one he himself sings on this album. The recording of this piece took place during the sessions for the album known in the Spanish-speaking world as the White Album, released in November 1968 by Apple Records. This album, presented as a double, was distinguished by a completely white cover, devoid of images or text beyond the band's name in relief, a deliberate contrast to the vibrant cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Although Don’t Pass Me By was not released as a single in the United Kingdom or the United States, the same recording sessions gave rise to other songs that were released as singles, such as Hey Jude and Revolution, in August 1968. The White Album in general is characterized by a fragmented style and a great diversity of musical genres. The Beatles, formed in Liverpool, had come a long way since their beginnings in skiffle and rock and roll in the fifties, exploring up to psychedelic rock and incorporating classical elements in an innovative way. Their popularity, which began with the so-called "Beatlemania", evolved as their compositions became more complex, eventually being seen as a reflection of progressive ideals and extending their influence to the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. The band, in its best-known lineup from 1962 onwards, was composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
