The story behind
De tripas corazón, according to DoReSol
When Aterciopelados was working on their second studio album, titled El Dorado, their sonic quest led them to a very particular point. The composition of De tripas corazón, which spans almost five minutes, is a reflection of that exploration. The music for this piece was conceived by Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago, who shaped one of the group's most recognized songs.
The recording of El Dorado took place at Audiovisión studios, located in Bogotá, Colombia. The process was under the production of Federico López. This album, released in 1995, is seen by many as a milestone in the history of Spanish rock. In fact, the magazine American Al Borde included it in its list of the 250 most important albums of Ibero-American rock in 2006, being one of Aterciopelados' three works to appear there. Within this same album is Bolero Falaz, another highly celebrated composition by the duo.
