The story behind
The first time I heard Cuerpos a medida live, I was struck by how the band made the rhythm feel wider than the stage itself. It's not just the sticky groove that makes you move your shoulders without thinking, but that mix of cumbia with Los Auténticos Decadentes where even the saxophone sounds like it's dancing. Capanga's trumpet enters with a phrasing that feels like a sigh, and suddenly the song isn't just a song: it's a call to move your body without explanation.
Recorded in 1989, Cuerpos a medida appeared on the band's debut album, El milagro argentino, an album released by Radio Trípoli and later reissued by RCA and Sony Music. What's interesting is that the mix was handled by Mario Breuer and Richard Etkin, who gave it that warm, organic feel that makes Francés' percussion and Barulio's drums sound like one. It lasted just over three minutes, but in that time it packs more ideas than many double-length songs.
