The story behind
This song starts with an air that seems taken from a summer afternoon in Buenos Aires, but with that dark touch that Los Auténticos Decadentes always had. The track is built on a rhythm that doesn’t stay still: the drums and percussion intertwine with the trumpet and the saxophone, while the lead vocals — that mix of hoarseness and melody — paint a story that doesn’t ask for permission. It’s not a song that sounds like what Argentine rock was doing at the time; it has something rawer, more direct, as if the lyrics and music had been born in the same moment, without filters.
The song was recorded in 1989, just as the band was taking shape. Los Auténticos Decadentes had been playing in bars and parties, and this track was one of the first to showcase their style: lyrics that talk about love and heartbreak with irony, mixed with rhythms that range from ska to rock. The album El milagro argentino was first released on Radio Trípoli, but later reissued by RCA and then Sony Music. The production was handled by Camilo Iezzi, and the mixing was done by Marcelo Arrizabalaga and Álvaro Villagra. It lasts 3 minutes and 27 seconds, but in that time, all the layers of sound fit in, making it sound unlike any other song of the era.
