The story behind
Creo, according to DoReSol
The first time I heard Creo by Los Enanitos Verdes in '94, I was hooked by that mix of melancholic and catchy vibes it has. It's not just the lyrics that captivate, but how the band makes the bass and guitar intertwine in a rhythm that seems to walk without haste but without pause, as if each note breathed. The song doesn't follow the typical mold of Argentine rock from that era: there are no exaggerated distortions or screams here, but a clean construction where the bass sets the pulse and the voice of Los Enanitos Verdes flows naturally, as if the song already existed and they had simply found it.
Recorded in Argentina for the album Big Bang, the song hit the market on August 15 of that year and became an immediate success. No need for complicated studio tricks: the raw and direct sound of the recording, with that bass you can feel in your chest, gave it an authentic character that resonated with the public. More than two decades later, in 2021, the artist Junior H —from Mexico— breathed new life into the song on his album $ad Boyz 4 Life, proving that the essence of Creo transcends borders and eras.
