The story behind
Come On Home, according to DoReSol
When you dive into *Come On Home*, you encounter a song that, from its first notes, grabs you with an energy described as raw and seductive at the same time. It's one of those pieces that hits you directly, with hooks that linger. It's said to have been one of the first songs that Franz Ferdinand performed live, and that feeling of something direct and with character remains intact.
The track is part of the band's self-titled debut album, released in February 2004. The recording took place at Gula Studios, in Malmö, Sweden, under the production of Tore Johansson, who was in charge of most of the album. Curiously, two of the songs were produced by the band themselves. This work, which saw the light of day through Domino Recording Company, reached third place on the United Kingdom charts that same year. Singles from this album that reached the top spots included *Take Me Out* and *The Dark of the Matinée*, as well as *Michael*. Franz Ferdinand's debut album was recognized with the Mercury Prize in 2004 and received a nomination for the Grammy Awards.
