Claroscuro

The first time we were able to hear Claroscuro was as part of the album Dynamo, the sixth studio work by Soda Stereo. Its presence on stage was quite particular. During the Gira Dynamo, between 1992 and 1993, it was only performed on two occasions: one was on the television program Fax en Concierto, hosted by Nicolás Repetto, and the other was in a series of shows at the Estadio Obras in late 1992. Surprisingly, it was not part of the rest of that tour. However, the song had a triumphant return in 1996, in a later stage of the Gira Sueño Stereo. By that time, they presented it in an extended version and with a more rock-oriented feel, which was maintained in almost all concerts of the Gira Comfort and in Música Para Volar. Audiovisual recordings remain from these latter performances, especially those at the Teatro Monumental in Chile and the Estadio del Club Ferro Carril Oeste.

Although Claroscuro is listed as the sixth track on El Último Concierto B, it was not played during the band's farewell tour. The audio heard on that album comes from concerts in the United States in March 1996, just before the recording of MTV Unplugged. It was also not present on the Gira Me Verás Volver, where only four songs from Dynamo were included: En remolinos, Primavera 0, Fue, and Texturas. There is an interesting anecdote connecting this song with U2: it is said that in 1993, during the Zoo TV Tour in Mexico, Bono, upon hearing Claroscuro, was inspired to compose Lemon, a track from their album Zooropa.
