The story behind
Cerdo, according to DoReSol
The song *Cerdo* by Molotov, with its duration of 2:49, opens the band's first studio album, titled ¿Dónde jugarán las niñas?. This record, initially released in Mexico on March 11, 1997, and later in the rest of the world in April of the same year, featured production by Gustavo Santaolalla and Aníbal Kerpel. The album stood out for its strong criticism of the Mexican political system of the time, addressing complex and taboo subjects, with an attitude reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine.
¿Dónde jugarán las niñas? was a success both in sales and critical reception internationally. Despite its recognition, the album also generated controversy, partly due to the content of its lyrics and the imagery of its cover. In 1998, the album received a nomination at the Latin Grammy Awards in the category of "Best Latin Alternative Rock Album". The release was managed by Universal Music Group, consolidating Molotov's presence in the music scene.
