Fun facts

Soda Stereo released «Cae el sol» as a single at the end of their album Canción animal, in 1990. The song was written by Gustavo Cerati, the vocalist and guitarist, and was recorded with Daniel Melero, an artist who accompanied them in the Gira Animal. The song closed the album, as if it were a whisper at the end of a journey.

The story behind

Soda Stereo recorded Cae el sol as the closing track of the album Canción animal, in 1990. The song has a smooth rhythm, with a guitar that moves between acoustic and electric. At the end, the melody of Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles can be heard, as a kind of silent tribute. The chorus is inspired by the whispering voices of Robert Plant, but with a more personal, closer touch. The song also appeared on the B-side of El último concierto, where it was played as the penultimate piece. During the show, Cerati changed a line of the lyrics for another, as if playing with the moment. At the end, they moved on to De música ligera, and the concert ended. The video of the song shows the group at the Gran Rex, but without the live sound, only the original audio.
