The story behind
Bolero falaz, according to DoReSol
With Bolero Falaz, Aterciopelados presented a piece that became a benchmark within their discography. This song, released as the first single from their second studio album, El Dorado, in 1995, stood out for its particular sound. It managed to position itself at number 56 on the US Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart that same year, remaining for two weeks, which consolidated it as one of the most recognized songs of both the album and the band in their career. The recording of El Dorado, the album of which Bolero Falaz is a part, took place at Audiovisión, in Bogotá, Colombia. The production was handled by Federico López.
This discographic work has been pointed out by critics as one of the fundamental albums of Spanish-language rock, and it is credited with having opened the doors to international recognition and commercial success for Aterciopelados. In fact, American magazine Al Borde included El Dorado in its list of the 250 most important albums of Ibero-American rock in 2006, being one of the band's three works to appear on said list. The duration of Bolero Falaz is 3:47.
