The song was born in 1994, on Otra Navidad en las trincheras, the fifth album by El Cuarteto de Nos. That year, the band had already been playing in small venues for a decade, but this album catapulted them into the spotlight: blending black humor and lyrics that brutally depicted Montevideo, they found a sound that felt like Uruguayan rock with an international edge. The version they recorded in 2004 for their self-titled album gave it a second life, though without altering its essence. The music video, directed by Esteban Israel and filmed that same year, is a visual wink: Roberto Musso wanders through his home as if time had stopped, waiting for the postman who never arrives.
