The story behind

Bamboa crudele, according to DoReSol

Enrique Iglesias's debut album, titled Enrique Iglesias, was initially released in Spanish on November 21, 1995, through Fonovisa Records. Shortly after, in 1996, its Italian version appeared. The production of this work was handled by the Spanish composer and producer Rafael Pérez Botija. This album not only marked the beginning of his career but also earned him significant recognition by winning a Grammy Award in the Best Latin Pop Album category at the 1997 ceremony.

Enrique Iglesias's career, whose full name is Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, formally began in 1995, after signing with Fonovisa, a label of the Mexican company Televisa, in 1994. This alliance was key to boosting his music in Spanish-speaking markets and among the Latino community in the United States. Over time, his reach expanded; in 1999, he made the leap to the English-speaking market by signing with Interscope, and later joined Universal Music Latino, part of Universal Music, for his Spanish releases. By 2010, his path led him to Universal Republic. Throughout his career, he has sold over 60 million records in both languages, consolidating himself as an artist of great commercial impact, especially in the United States, where he has sold more than 12 million copies. His album Euphoria, released later, demonstrated his continued popularity, reaching number one in sales in Spain and Mexico, and accumulating millions of copies and singles sold worldwide.
