The story behind

Balada de Donna Helena, according to DoReSol

Fito Páez's *Balada de Donna Helena* is a piece that spans just over six minutes, inviting a sonic journey. In its conception, the song featured the joint work on the *mixing* by Carlos Narea, Nigel Walker, and Fito Páez himself. The artist, born in Rosario in 1963, is a central figure in Argentine music, recognized for his career as a singer-songwriter and pianist, and for being part of the so-called *Trova rosarina*. His career, spanning over three decades, includes about twenty studio albums and collaborations with internationally renowned artists.

Fito Páez's international projection was consolidated in the early nineties with releases such as *El amor después del amor* in 1992 and *Circo beat* in 1994. These works achieved notable commercial success, selling over a million copies between them. Throughout his career, he has been awarded on multiple occasions, including five *Latin Grammy* awards. Two of these accolades were obtained in the year 2000, one for "best male rock singer" for his album *Abre* (1999) and another for the song "Al lado del camino" as best rock song. Between 2007 and 2009, he added three consecutive *Grammys* in different categories. Furthermore, the Konex Foundation awarded him the *Konex Platinum Award* in 1995 as "best rock composer of the decade in Argentina".
