The story behind
Baja la tensión, according to DoReSol
The first time I heard Baja la tensión by Cultura Profética, I was hooked by that rhythm that sways like a pendulum between calm and drive, never losing the beat. It's not just the melody that captivates, but that feeling that the song breathes in two tempos: one softer, almost whispered, and another that accelerates as if the body couldn't stay still. The bass and guitar intertwine in a dialogue that doesn't sound rehearsed, but alive, as if each note had been tuned along the way.
The song was born during a full tour, when Cultura Profética had been touring stages for years with songs that morphed depending on the audience. Some, like this one, were etched in fans' memories even before reaching the album. In 2010, when they released La Dulzura on their own label, La Mafafa, they had long been sharing early versions online. Baja la tensión was no exception: its essence already circulated among those who followed the band, and when it finally arrived on the album, it sounded like the perfect closing of a cycle that had been brewing since 2007. At just over four minutes, it's one of those songs that doesn't need more to stick around.
