The story behind
Babylon Girl, according to DoReSol
When Danny Ocean set out to create his debut album, 54+1, the idea was to explore a sound that fused Dancehall with Latin Pop, adding touches of Reggaeton, Reggae, and Urban. The production of this work began in June 2017, just after the artist signed with Warner Music Group. The result is an album that, in its entirety, was self-produced by Danny Ocean himself. Mixing and mastering were carried out in Miami, with Ricardo Sangiao from World Class Mastering taking care of those details. Other professionals also participated in the creation of the album, such as Chris Gehringer from Sterling Sound, Delbert Bowers, Gonzalo Contreras, and Carlos Escalona in sound engineering, in addition to Carlos Ramírez, who collaborated as a co-writer on the track Swing.
The track Babylon Girl, with a duration of 2:42, is an example of this sonic exploration. This album, titled 54+1 (which is read as "Fifty-four plus one"), was released on March 22, 2019, under the Atlantic Records label. Danny Ocean's vision for this project spanned from composition to the final technical aspects, seeking a distinctive sound within the genres that inspired him.
