The story behind

Julieta Venegas released Aquí in 1997, her first album as a solo artist. She recorded most of the songs between 1995 and 1996, in a studio that gave her a close and authentic sound. Venegas' voice feels clear, as if she were telling stories from her own life. The song Si tú no estás aquí lasts three and a half minutes, and sounds like something you listen to in a moment of calm, when words matter more than noise. The genre mixes Spanish rock with acoustic, and the producer, Gustavo Santaolalla, gave it a touch that makes it unique. It's an album that is played in silence, but that never stops sounding.
