The story behind
Aquí, according to DoReSol
The song *Aquí* by La Ley was released in January 2000, marking the beginning of a new era for the band. This track, which became the first single from their album *Uno*, is distinguished by a more direct, alternative rock sound, moving away from the darker, industrial explorations of previous works like *Vértigo* or the gothic style fused with grunge in *Invisible*. The recording of *Uno* was done with the band functioning as a trio, with the collaboration of Archie Frugone for the bass lines, and later J.C. Cumplido joined for tours until his departure in 2001, also being replaced by Frugone.
The visual impact of *Aquí* was also considerable, with a music video that premiered on MTV Latino in February 2000. For its filming, the band traveled to the Coyote Dry Lake desert in California, a setting that contributed a particular atmosphere to the audiovisual piece. In addition to its broadcast on music channels, the song found a place in Chilean popular culture by being included in the soundtrack of the TV series *Santo Ladrón* by TVN. The longevity of its resonance was evident when it was presented at Teletón Chile in 2014, demonstrating its permanence in the collective imagination.
