The story behind
Anjo, according to DoReSol
Anjo begins with an air that sways between the intimate and the expansive, as if Marina Sena's voice floated over a rhythm that cannot quite be pinned down. The song does not progress in a straight line: there are turns that make it feel more organic than polished, as if each note had been captured in the exact moment it arose, without forced adjustments. The bridge, in particular, breaks with expectations and takes the melody to a place where the lyrics seem to float above the silence before returning to the chorus. The track was born amid the recording process of Coisas Naturais, the artist's third album, released in late March 2025.
Marina Sena wrote it as part of the thirteen songs that make up the record, all created by her. Before the album saw the light of day, Anjo already had its own space: it was the first single announced, in November 2024, and its release marked the start of the album's promotion. The song, at three minutes and forty-eight seconds, slipped into the public's favorites and also caught the juries' attention: it was nominated for the Latin Grammy in the category of Best Portuguese-Language Song, while the entire album received a nomination for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese.
