The story behind

When you immerse yourself in *Anda Luzia*, you encounter a piece that invites you to feel. The melody, with its duration of 2 minutes and 39 seconds, envelops you in a particular way, inviting you to explore its atmosphere. It is one of the songs that make up the first discographic work of Maria Bethânia, an album that bears her own name.

This debut album, which originally saw the light of day in June 1965 in LP format and mono sound, was released by the RCA Victor label. Later, in 1971, it had a stereo reissue under the name RCA Camden. In 1996, Sony BMG presented a remastered CD version. Maria Bethânia, born as Maria Bethânia Vianna Telles Velloso on June 18, 1946, in Santo Amaro, Bahia, Brazil, began her musical journey in 1964 with a performance at the Opinião concert in Rio de Janeiro. Her national popularity was consolidated in 1965 with the single *Carcará*. She comes from a family with a strong connection to music, being the sister of singer-songwriters Caetano Veloso and Mabel Velloso, and the aunt of singers Belô Velloso and Jota Velloso. Throughout her career, she has released 50 studio albums and is considered one of Brazil's most prominent voices, with sales of 26 million copies.
