The story behind

The song *Amantes de ocasión* by Cristian Castro stands out for its extended duration of 4 minutes and 45 seconds. This track, originally released with the canonical title *Amantes de ocasion*, was part of the artist's seventh studio album, titled Azul. The production of this album was once again handled by the Colombian composer and producer Kike Santander, who had previously collaborated with Castro on his previous work, Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor, released in 1999. The album Azul was released on June 5, 2001, and shortly after, in February 2002, it received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards. Cristian Castro, whose full name is Cristian Sainz Valdés Castro, was born in Mexico City on December 8, 1974. He comes from a family with a strong artistic tradition; he is the son of renowned actors Verónica Castro and Manuel "El Loco" Valdés. His family environment also includes figures such as telenovela producer José Alberto "El Güero" Castro, his maternal uncle, and iconic comedians Germán Valdés, known as Tin Tán, and Ramón Valdés, who played Don Ramón in El Chavo del Ocho, his paternal uncles. Despite his beginnings in acting, driven by the artistic environment that surrounded him, Cristian Castro found his true calling in singing, establishing himself internationally. Throughout his career, he has managed to place 29 songs at the top of the Top Latin Songs charts, being recognized as the third most prominent Spanish-speaking singer in Billboard's history, with sales exceeding 12 million records and an extensive record of over 65 gold and 31 platinum albums.
