The song *Almost Honest* by Megadeth, with a duration of 4:04, was composed by Dave Mustaine and M Friedman. It was released as part of the band's seventh studio album, titled Cryptic Writings, on June 17, 1997, under the Capitol Records label. This album marked the last appearance of drummer Nick Menza, thus closing the band's longest-standing lineup to date, which had recorded four studio albums. For the production of Cryptic Writings, Megadeth decided to work with Dann Huff in Nashville, Tennessee, seeking a different sound from their previous producer, Max Norman.
