The story behind
Al final del arcoiris, according to DoReSol
At the End of the Rainbow began as a sonic experiment that transformed the intimate into the grand. Ricardo Montaner did not settle for revisiting his classics: he wrapped them in strings, brass, and the weight of a full orchestra. The London Metropolitan Orchestra was not mere accompaniment; its symphonic arrangements gave the piece an air of redemption, as if each note carried the weight of lived experience. The result does not sound like a cover, but like a second life for the song, where piano and violins converse with Montaner’s voice without losing their melodic essence.Recorded in London during 1999, this project arose from the need to explore new horizons.
Montaner took his hits to a stage where the acoustic and the symphonic intertwined, and the result was an album that proved even the most personal melodies could breathe in an orchestral space. Released by WEA Latina that same year, the record included minor lyrical changes in tracks like Déjame, but preserved the essence of each theme intact. Clocking in at 4 minutes and 14 seconds, At the End of the Rainbow became a bridge between the intimate and the monumental, where Montaner’s voice found new brilliance beneath the orchestra’s strings.
