The story behind
With a duration that extends for more than eleven minutes, *Ah, te vi entre las luces* unfolds as a centerpiece on the first album of La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros, released in 1976. This work marked a turning point for Charly García after the end of Sui Generis. The intention was to explore more complex sounds and themes different from his previous works, marking an evolution in his musical proposal. The album cover, a collaboration between Juan Oreste Gatti and the cartoonist Crist, who created a comic strip defining the band as "a progressive bird," also reflects this ambition to go further.
The composition of *Ah, te vi entre las luces* and the rest of the album was gestated with considerable investment, being one of the most ambitious projects in the history of Argentine rock up to that point. The canonical title of the song, which includes the word "Shhh!", suggests a particular atmosphere, perhaps inviting introspection or a moment of pause within the sonic complexity that characterizes the band.
