The story behind
After the Rain Has Fallen, according to DoReSol
Sting wrote and sang "After the Rain Has Fallen" as the third single from his album Brand New Day, released in 1999. It was released in April 2000, and in the UK it reached number 31 on the chart. In the United States, on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart, it reached second place.
The song has a funk rock rhythm, with a strong hook and a soundtrack that uses synthesizers more subtly. Sting described it using animals as a metaphor, comparing himself to a dog: loyal, honest, intelligent, but also jealous. It was published by A&M Records with the catalog number 497325-4.
